A fine and rare example of an original 1990's Nanyo Boeki Japanese SB320 Series Bass Collection
Made in Japan in the mid-90's, this sumptuous 5 String features gold hardware, brass nut, heavy duty Gotoh tuners and bridge and a vivid, translucent green finish, perfectly highlighting its stunning grain.
In very good condition, fitted with a fresh set of Bass Centre Elites Stadium Series 45-130 strings and set-up by long-term Bass Centre tech, Chris Ward, the bass comes complete with a brand new Bass Centre gig bag.
All the hallmarks of the classic SB design are in place... distinctive, lightweight body contour, unique, heel-less, bolt on neck, 2 octave, unmarked, rosewood fingerboard, high density Gotoh bridge for maximum sustain and powerful active SGC twin band electronics.
The Wapping Years
Throughout the late 80's and 90's, The Bass Centre was synonymous with The Bass Collection range, with our Wapping store being the only place in the West to feature the complete range, including the SB325, featured in this 1995 brochure alongside the other models that have informed the Bass Centre's current Speakeasy revival.
The classic line-up of SGC/Nanyo instruments still has a devoted following, with numerous online user groups and forums dedicated to chronicling the development of the brand and the myriad of model variations.
Notable users include Muse bass superstar, Chris Wolstenholme, who used a pair of Bass Collection SB300 Series basses, both live and in the studio, during the band's 2000/2001 "Showbiz" era.
