Back in the 80:s I purchased a Badass bridge as a replacement on my Fender Precision bass. I remember the great sustain and the top quality of the product.
Now 25 years later when customizing an old p-body (-69) with a jazz neck and di Marzio pickups the choice of Badass is absolute obvious.
Thanks Bass Centre for fast order treatment. I got the bridge in the mailbox just a week after ordering it.
My old bridge on my MIM Fender Jazz slipped and rattled everywhere. It was appauling. I bought the badass, fitted it (it went on very easily) and got the saddles slotted by a local luthier. I got it back today and it is an absolute beaty of a bridge. Not only has it got rid of the rattle, but it has increased the sustain by a huge amount and everything sounds more punchy. I would definately reccomend it
i am building a custom jazz style bass and this was the perfect bridge to compliment the build, it looks good well built and definatly will not break in a million years. i cant wait to fit it!
My MIM Fender P Bass was suffering from some poor note definition and also the bridge saddle on the G string was moving and unscrewing it's height adjustment screws - thus lowering the action and causing the string to buzz. Quite a nuisance!
Recently I had the BADASS II fitted and it really does feel like a whole new bass now (and I am definitely not known to exaggerate!). The note definition is vastly superior, sustain is endless and the sound has much more punch to it. I would recommend that anyone who has a MIM Fender bass, or similar with a 5-screw fixing bridge, upgrade to one of these bridges. They are superb and SOLID!!!
Want that driving, rock P Bass sound? Fit a BADASS II bridge and a Seymour Duncan SPB-3 Quarter Pound pickup. 'Growl City'!
In the last couple of years I've been venturing into building my own basses from factory parts. The Leo Quan BadAss II bridge is an essential part of my jazz basses for both the fretted and fretless type. Nothing is easier than installing this replacement bridge on your own, be careful with filing down the grooves though (it is possible to do it on your own, I recommend you try it out).
Lately I purchased a BadAss bridge for a fretless project that I'm working on, it totally brought the bass alive.
These bridges are so sought after that I couldn't get a hold of one in mainland Europe, so I bought it at the BassCentre, because they always seem to have the proper amount of stock.
I fitted one of these to my MIM Fender Jazz and I am astonished with the difference! The sound is so much deeper, richer and the sustain is far superior than without it. It was a no hassle direct replacement for the bridge I removed - the screw holes lined up well. My only point of note is that the saddles have no string grooves, so I will probably machine them in, although it does play really well without them. 4.5 out of 5 overalll. Well worth the money. New life to an old bass!!!
