Seymour Duncan SJB-3B Quarter Pound

High output true single-coil. Recommended for blues, classic rock, garage, heavy rock, classic metal and nu-metal. Developed for the bassist who needs the slammin output of the Hot but with even stronger attack. The quarter-inch pole pieces and intense windings deliver a full response with great sustain. Includes logo cover. Calibrated neck and bridge set. Neck pickup is slightly narrower. Neck is RW/RP for hum canceling when both pickups are used together.

Often used together with STC-2 or STC-3 tone circuits for optimal tonal control.

What a difference these pickups have made to my MIM Fender Jazz. I used it at a gig and all the band where blown away with the awesome sound. Thanks to Tom at The Bass Centre for advice and sorting things out.

Seymour Duncan SJB-3B Quarter Pound Jazz Bridge Pickup
Great Upgrade

I bought a very cheap Jazz copy as I was after a bass in a hurry and was surprised to discover that the set up was nearly as good as the Aerodyne jazz I had previously owned. Obviously, the electrics were nowhere near as good so I decided to upgrade the pickups, wiring and pots.

The pickups arrived with a clear wiring diagram and everything fitted nicely into the existing holes. On turning on the amp and playing, I was amazed how much of an improvement on sound the SJB 3B and 3N have made. There is a far greater range of tone, from warm through to very tight and punchy. The depth these pickups have brought to my bass is absolutely superb and I would challenge anyone to tell that I play a budget bass.

As I gig quite a bit, it was my intention to look for something better but I think I'm going to stick with my new upgraded set up. For one thing, the sound is supberb and secondly, I'm not going to care about getting dings and dents on the guitar that invariably go with gigging.

I would love to have another 2 of these cheap basses with the SJB 1s and 2s on them just as a comparison.
