About The Basscentre

Bass Centre history

The Bass Centre first opened its doors on the 1st January 1984. Based in Wapping (London), the store quickly became the place to buy bass. Following the success of the Wapping store, new branches were opened in Los Angeles, Birmingham and Manchester.

Weekdays in all stores were often visited by world renowned bassists like Marcus Miller, Mark King, Nathan East and Guy Pratt not to mention the incredible volume of professional and amateur players eager to try the huge range of basses, amps, cabs and effects.

In 2002, the Wapping store was closed and moved to its Brune Street address in central London where it operated for 5 years.

Now, the Bass Centre operates online, mail order and by appointment, bringing you the same great prices and great service always associated with The Bass Centre name.
